Design Shift is located in Bengaluru India. However all of our classes take place entirely online. Students do not work out of our offices and can take classes from anywhere.

To be eligible for this program you must-have :

General - Applications are open to Indian Nationals residing in India with a valid PAN card and Aadhar Card. You are required to have a laptop and a good internet connection to continue attending our classes. Good knowledge of the English language is a must.

Academic Background - You must have cleared the 12th standard under CBSE/ICSE or any other boards recognised under the Indian education system. No prior design background is required to apply for our courses. College dropouts can also apply.

Age - The current offerings at Design Shift are designed for applicants with a minimum age of 18 years and maximum age limit of 26 years. Offerings for candidates beyond this age bracket may be rolled out in the future.

English Communication - You would need to have good English Communication skills (Listening / Writing / Speaking) to join the program.

UX/UI Designer is one of the most in-demand and an ever-growing skill set required across all sectors and industries. Our in house placement team is dedicated to your career development and to that end, works with some of the best tech companies in India. We have more than 300+ hiring partners like Samsung, Instamojo, Paytm, Nobroker, MPL, Sharechat, Revvsales etc.

We will help you prepare your resume, portfolio, build your digital profile, practice interviews and even help you in salary negotiation. At the end of the day though, you're the one who needs to give the interview and get the job. So, equal effort is required from your side too :).

Currently we have two live online programs.
1. Full-Time program for 25 weeks from Monday to Friday and classes happens between 10AM to 5PM.
2. Part-Time program for 25 weeks. Classes happens Saturday and Sunday between 10AM to 4PM. Inaddition to that mentor sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 8PM to 10PM.
The classes are mostly hands-on practice sessions along with theory sessions.

The medium of instruction will be in English. You must be able to understand the lectures that are delivered in English language. Although as part of the curriculum, we help you develop your written and verbal communication skills.

No, it is important for you to have more than 90% attendance in the classes. Although we do record and archive all of our lectures and you can view them in case you are not able to attend a class for a genuine reason and inform us with a prior notice

Design Shift is not a degree granting institution, but we do issue a certificate of completion upon graduation. Thus, the core focus at Design Shift is on skill-development and holistic design learning. With that in mind, we have not tied up with any educational institutions or industry bodies for certification / degrees.

No, we don't control where you work. We do recommend not over optimizing your job search and get started in your career/job as fast as possible.

No, college CGPA does not play any role in your entry to Design Shift program.

As both are mandatory for you to apply for any of our courses, we would suggest you apply for these.

No, this is not a free course. While you do not pay the fees before you start a course, you do have to pay the fees after completion of the course and when you get a job with a salary of a minimum 5 Lakhs per year.

There is no registration fee. We only take the fee after you have completed the course and have gotten placed with a minimum salary of 5 Lakhs per year.

You have to pay ZERO fees till you start earning a minimum salary of 5 Lakhs per year. After you get a job with the minimum salary requirement, you need to pay 15% of your monthly salary (plus 18% GST) for 34 months or till you reach the maximum total fees amount of 2.5 Lakhs (Full-Time Program) and 2 Lakhs (Part-Time Program)

Our course has been designed in such a way that if you feel you cannot cope in the first unit (first 3 weeks), you can leave the course without paying anything. However, if you decide to leave anytime in Unit 2, you are liable to pay a fee of 1,00,000 and if you decide to leave anytime in Unit 3, you are liable to pay a fee of 1,50,000. If you choose to drop off anytime between Unit 4 - 6, you are liable to pay the complete ISA amount which is a total of 2.5 Lakhs including GST (Full-Time Program) or 2 Lakhs including GST (Part-Time Program)

UI / UX design is among the most sought after jobs in the market. If you learn the skills well and keep enhancing your portfolio, growth is really good. People have started their career from 5-6 LPA and have reached 20-25 LPA in a 4-5 Years time frame.

The final location of your workplace will depend on the hiring company policies, we will not have a say in that. Although, as part of ISA it is important that you should be open to relocate and ready for taking up jobs in the metro cities mentioned.

Income Share Agreement (ISA) Questions

Important Note: The FAQs below explains certain tuition and ISA features and terms, but do not override any terms in the Income Share Agreement (ISA) itself. Students should read their enrollment agreement and ISA contract(s) carefully to understand their terms.

Design Shift tuition fees is ₹ 2.5 Lakhs (Full-Time Program) and ₹ 2 Lakhs (Part-Time Program) Including 18% GST. If you do not land a paying job, you do not pay Design Shift anything. If you land a high-paying job, the most you will pay is ₹ 2.5 Lakhs (Full-Time Program) and ₹ 2 Lakhs (Part-Time Program) Including 18% GST. ‍ After you reach the payment cap or complete your 34 monthly payments (Full-Time Program) and 27 monthly payments (Part-Time Program), you are free of obligation under the ISA. Below is a chart illustrating the total amount you will pay under the ISA payment option in various earning scenarios.

Yes, of course. As you go through our admission process, a copy of the same will be made available to you at the end.

It will come into action once you get placed with a more than 5LPA job within 1 yrs after completion of the course.

The Masai School ISA has built-in protection for financial hardship. If you lose your job or should your income drop below 5LPA, your payments will automatically be paused after you’ve reported the change.

In the rare case that you don't get a job of Rs. 5 LPA, your payment will not start. Your payment will only start if you get a job > 5LPA within 1 year of completing the course.

ISAs are not loans so they have no interest.

As per the ISA, you will be legally bound to furnish all the documents relevant to your Income such as Offer Letter, Salary Slips, Income Tax Returns, Bank Statements etc.

Our ISA payment collection is done through our NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company) partners. Upon clearing your unit 1 evaluation, you would be required to complete the NBFC documentation.

Our assigned NBFC partner will approve you a zero interest capital equal to the ISA amount which you can pay in EMIs. The EMI's (equated monthly installment) would start only after the completion of the course and you have successfully secured an offer letter above the threshold amount of Rs 5,00,000 (Five Lakhs rupees only) CTC.

Placement Questions

No, we do not guarantee a job after the course. Design Shift is a skill building academy, we offer holistic design learning focusing on latest UX and UI design skills, soft skills and employability quotient. We have tie up with many hiring partners, but ultimately clearing the interview and securing a job is the responsibility of the student.

The actual placement process begins on the completion of your course which is dependent on your clearing the final unit evaluation. However, the preparation for the placement process begins during the last unit of your curriculum and runs for a few weeks alongside the curriculum.

Yes, we work with you during the last few weeks of the program, helping you build a strong portfolio, resume, online digital profiles and multiple mock interviews. You will be given preparatory information for any opportunity/company coming in for hiring as well. Additional one-on-one guidance is provided during the placement process, as deemed necessary by the team.
